Lincoln man one of best in the UK

A Hearing Aid Audiologist from Lincoln is celebrating after being named one of the top professionals in the UK.

Sam Robinson, who cares for patients with hearing difficulties at his Lincoln Hearing Practice and Kirton Medical Centre Nr Boston, has been highly commended in the UK Audiologist of the Year 2009 competition.

The competition attracted seven hundred nominations from across the UK.

He was nominated for the award by a number of his patients. The award encourages patients across the UK to vote for hearing professionals (audiologists) who go above and beyond the call of duty to help. 

It is organised by Rayovac, the UKs only manufacturer of hearing aid batteries and the leading manufacturer in the world.

Entries were judged by an independent panel on their quality and how well they bring the hearing care professionals work to life.

Sam said: “I’m delighted to have been nominated for the award. It will be wonderful to win but even if I don’t then just being a finalist and making the shortlist is still an honour.

“Being put forward by my patients is something that makes me really proud. Looking after someone’s hearing is a major responsibility and it’s nice to know my support is appreciated and respected.”

There are over 1,000 hearing professionals in the UK today - working independently and in the NHS with patients across all ages. Audiology involves the study of hearing and balance. Hearing professionals are involved in the assessment, management and therapeutic rehabilitation of people with hearing and balance problems and associated disorders.
